MALTESER BROWNIE
For my birthday I got three big boxes of maltesers so everything I baked turned into malteser recipes! This brownie recipe has to be my favourite, the maltesers begin to melt and the honeycomb goes all gooey and extra delicious. They are served warm with ice-cream or you can just eat them cold.
Ingredients
150g butter
175g dark chocolate
2 eggs
225g caster sugar
150g self-raising flour
150g maltesers
Method
1, Preheat the oven to 180ËšC
2. Lightly grease and line a 23cm square tin
3. Gently melt the butter and dark chocolate in a bowl over a pan of water at a low heat. Once melted stand aside to cool
4. In a separate bowl whisk the eggs and sugar
5. Add the chocolate and butter mixture to the eggs and sugar and whisk until combined
6. Sieve the flour into the mixture and continue to whisk until the mixture is quite thick
7. Then fold in the maltesers and stir until they are evenly distributed
8. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for approximately 20 minutes until the top begins to crack and a skewer comes out nearly clean
9. Completely cool then cut into little squares (or big ones if they are for yourself!)
