CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Since a school trip to New York when I was 15 cookies have had a special place in my heart. Most days I would have a warm, gooey, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie at lunch time and now the supermarket packets of cookies that I used to beg my Mum to buy before picnics just don't seem up to scratch. This recipe brings back the amazing memories of eating cookies, looking down from the Empire State building and taking a trip to the Statue of Liberty.
Ingredients
100g margarine
75g soft lifght brown sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
175g self-raising flour
100g chocolate chips
2 tbsp milk
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180C and grease two baking trays
2. Beat the margarine until soft then add the sugar and cream together until pale and fluffy
3. Stir in the syrup, flour, chocolate chips and mix well
4. Place 18 spoonfuls of the mixture onto the trays and bake for 8-10 minutes
5. Remove from the tray immediately and place on a wire rack to cool
Tip- Try adding your favourite sweets such as smarties, M&M's or munchies for an alternatve but just as yummy version!
