CHOCOLATE CRUNCH
This recipe is so easy as it involves no baking at all, so is great for making with children who will love bashing up biscuits and crumbling up chocolate bars. You can adapt this recipe to include your favourite treats or whatever you have at home, especially after Christmas or a birthday to use up the naughty treats you've received.
Ingredients
160g dark chocolate
200g crunchie
100g butter
100g digestive biscuits
2 tbsp golden syrup
60g milk chocolate
50g sultanas
Method
1. Grease and line a small tin, I used a 23cm square
2. Melt the butter, golden syrup, milk chocolate and 60g of dark chocolate in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water. Alternatively use a microwave to melt the ingredients
3. Crush the digestive biscuits and 100g of crunchie into small chunks using a rolling pin
4. Add the crushed digestives and crunchie to the melted mixture along with the sultanas and stir until they are fully combined
5. Pour this mixture into the prepared tin and smooth over, ensuring it is even and pressed into the corners.
6. Place in the fridge to chill whilst preparing the topping
7. Crush 100g of crunchie and add this to a bowl over gently simmering water with 100g of dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted, alternatively use a microwave
8. Remove the tin from the fridge and pour over the melted chocolate before returning to the fridge for an hour to chill
9. After an hour remove from the frige and slice into approximately 8 squares
Tip- For a more professional finish melt some white chocolate and drizzle over the top when the mixture has been chilled.
